Regular vs. Imported Demo Grids
Before we begin, let’s quickly touch on the difference between regular grids and the imported demo grids.
A regular grid consists of:
- Content from your own blog posts
- Your chosen Skin Template
- Your chosen Grid Settings
An imported demo grid consists of:
- Imported Posts that will be added as Ess. Grid Posts
- A preselected Skin Template
- A preselected set of Grid Settings
Importing a Grid Template
First, make sure the plugin is updated and activated.
Click on “Create from Grid Templates” to access the Grid Template Library.
Select a Grid Template and click on “Install Grid”
The imported Grid Template will be displayed on the Grid Overview.
Handling Content
To populate the Grid Templates with Demo Contents, follow the instructions here
Find a demo you’d like to work with. And then review what type of post options are being used by examining one of the Ess Grid Posts being pulled into the Grid.
Next, create a new regular blog post, or edit an existing one with the same type of setup.
And then change the demo grid’s post-source from “Ess. Grid Posts” to the category from your regular blog post.
And then save(1) and refresh(2) the Grid.
