“Team” Grid Template Customization

"Team" is a new Essential Grid template designed to showcase your team members.

Team Post type status and slug

The Team template comes with the “Team” addon, which includes a team post type and custom meta for team grid template. The post type features two taxonomies, Roles and Teams, which allow you to group team members together . You can edit the members in the ESG Team Members section.

The addon also provides options in the Global Settings section to control the status and slug of the post type.

Change Images

Each member has two images: a image regular and a hover image.

The Regular image is the post’s featured image, and you can edit it in the ESG Team Members posts section.

The Hover image can be changed in the Essential Grid Meta box on the post edit page or in the “Post Meta Editor” dialog on the grid edit page. To do this, select the Alternative Sources tab and scroll down to “Alt. Image” field.

Change colors

Each team member has a different background color for the team member position element on hover. To adjust the color, you can use the Skin Modifications tab in the Essential Grid Meta box on the post edit page or in the “Post Meta Editor” dialog on the grid edit page.

Change team member information

Team member has a set of additional fields which can be displayed in grid item. To adjust team member data, you can use the Team Member tab in the Essential Grid Meta box on the post edit page or in the “Post Meta Editor” dialog on the grid edit page.

Display team member information in grid

To change or add new information to a grid item, you need to edit the grid skin.

Navigate to the Essential Grid > Item Skin Editor and select “Team” skin.

To update the element choose it in the Item Layout section. Or add a new element by dragging layer template to the Item Layout section.

In the Layer Settings section choose the “Source” tab.

  • Set “Source” = Post
  • Set “Element” = Meta
  • Set “Meta Key” = any key which started from “eg_team_member_”
